Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating PWFY Hydronic Heat Exchangers
Mitsubishi Electric US Cooling & Heating Division (Mitsubishi Electric) has introduced its new VRF PWFY Hydronic Heat Exchanger, which functions in various modes to provide hot water or cooled water.
"Our new Hydronic Heat Exchanger units use waste heat to provide hot water, which is useful for a number of applications such as commercial laundry services, heating water at hotels, casinos or restaurants, radiant floor heating or humidity control" says Mike Smith, senior product marketing manager, Mitsubishi Electric US Cooling & Heating Division.
The basic PWFY Hydronic Heat Exchanger Unit is available in two sizes – 36,000 and 72,000 Btu – and operates in three modes – Heating (full temperature range), Heating ECO (supply temperature based on outdoor ambient) and Anti-Freeze (maintains circulation to prevent pipe freeze). The PWFY Hydronic Heat Exchanger Unit can provide hot water from 86-113 degrees Fahrenheit and cool water from 50-86 degrees Fahrenheit. This unit is connectable to Mitsubishi Electric VRF Modular Units, Water Source Modular Units and Hyper-heating units, significantly increasing the overall operating efficiency of the system.
For applications requiring increased hot water temperatures, the Booster Unit can be connected that utilizes a secondary R134A refrigerant cycle to boost the water up to 160 degrees Fahrenheit. The Booster Unit is available in one size – 36,000 Btu – and offers four operation modes – Hot Water (boosts temperature up to 160 degrees Fahrenheit), Heating (provides hot water up to 122 degrees Fahrenheit), Heating ECO (supply temperature based on outdoor ambient) and Anti-Freeze (maintains circulation to prevent pipe freeze). The Booster Unit is connectable to Mitsubishi Electric VRF Modular Heat Recovery (R2) Units and Water Source Modular Heat Recovery (WR2) Units.
